I love crocheting and lately, I’ve moved into making clothing for adults. I’ve started with making crochet hats and scarves something simple but then I move on to making capes and they have been taking off. One day I decided to finally make something for me. So I sat down on my bed, my favorite place to crochet with my favorite hook at that time I loved me some Susan Bates Hooks. I now have moved on to clover and furls but back then babe be those hooks make the yarn flow like silk. I made this bright multicolor cape that is buttoned down the front with a tie belt. So I posted it to my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HopesLovingHands for all to see.
After posting my cape on Facebook I was so excited to received several likes but the kicker was when I wore my cape to work, that was it! I received 10 orders just from being my own walking advertisement. That day taught me a lot about how to promote my work. All together I receive four (4) on the first day of wearing my cape to work and six (6) more throughout the week. After I made the first one for a coworker and brought it to work the rest of my coworkers went crazy! I began to get bombarded with cape orders for adults and children but I loved it because the mothers wanted the mommy and me look and who can blame them!
